MC Bank is a community bank founded in Morgan City, La., in 1955 that serves the parishes that hug Highway 90 from Lafayette to Houma, La. The bank has a main office and a branch in Morgan City and branches in Bayou Vista, Amelia and Lafayette, La. MC Bancshares was formed in 1991 as a one-bank holding company with its solely owned subsidiary being Morgan City Bank & Trust Company. Simultaneous with the merger of the bank into the holding company, the bank's name changed to MC Bank & Trust Company. In 1997, MC Bank acquired Guaranty Bank & Trust Company of Morgan City. MC Bank offers a variety of checking and savings accounts, including money market and individual retirement accounts.
